Areas of Practice
Heather joined F&P in April, 2016. She concentrates her practice on insurance defense, trucking and transportation law, nursing home negligence, medical malpractice and dental malpractice. Heather has had success representing clients of all sizes throughout the stages of the litigation process, including conducting and defending fact and expert witness depositions, resolving discovery disputes and drafting and arguing dispositive motions. She has tried several cases to verdict in both bench and jury trials in all levels of the Maryland state court.
Before joining Franklin & Prokopik, Heather worked as an associate attorney at a personal injury firm in Towson, Maryland. While there, she handled automobile accident, nursing home negligence, and medical malpractice litigation matters. This experience enables her to analyze issues from different perspectives having argued on both the plaintiff and defense sides.
During law school, Heather served as a Rule 16 Student Attorney for the University of Baltimore Criminal Clinic, working at the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office. She also was a member of the University of Baltimore’s William E. McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court team and later served on the board.
