Fannie Angelos Program for Academic Excellence’s 7th Annual Gala will be held on November 19, 2020. Unlike past events, this one will be held virtually via Zoom from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This year’s theme is “A Call to Action: The Urgent Need for Diversity in the Legal Profession” and the program will feature high profile guests Ray Lewis and Sunny Hostin. The Fannie Angelos Program for Academic Excellence’s mission is to champion diversity in the legal industry and is a partnership between the University of Baltimore School of Law and Maryland’s historically black colleges and universities.F&P principal, Imoh Akpan, serves as a gala chair and we are proud to partner with this organization.
The Fannie Angelos Program for Academic Excellence is the result of a unique collaboration between the University of Baltimore School of Law and Maryland’s four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (Morgan State, Coppin State, Bowie State, and University of Maryland Eastern Shore). The Program helps prepare top undergraduate students both to enter law school and to excel once they are admitted. The Program, one of the most successful of its kind in the nation, has helped over 90 students gain admission to Law School.
