Franklin & Prokopik Secures Favorable Jury Verdict for Baltimore Private School

Franklin & Prokopik principal Ralph Arnsdorf recently obtained a favorable jury verdict in Baltimore County Circuit Court on behalf of The Park School of Baltimore.
The case arose from a 2019 school accident in which a student sustained facial and dental injuries when a scaffold plank fell during a stagecraft class. While liability was admitted, the primary issue at trial was the extent of the student’s claimed damages.
The plaintiff sought approximately $360,000 in non-economic damages, alleging permanent injuries and long-term effects from the incident. After a brief deliberation, the jury awarded $50,000 – less than 14% of the amount requested.
The verdict represents a significant reduction from the damages sought and underscores the ability to effectively defend clients in high-exposure personal injury matters.
