Kenrick F. Roberts Appointed as Maryland’s Newest Workers’ Compensation Commissioner

As of March 2026, Kenrick F. Roberts is actively presiding over cases at the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission.

Commissioner Roberts brings nearly a decade of experience advocating for claimants during his time at Berman, Sobin, Gross LLP. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Matthew A. Maciarello at the Circuit Court for Wicomico County.

He has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers since 2020 and was selected for inclusion in The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 and Top Attorneys in America.

Commissioner Roberts earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. He also holds an M.S. from Nova Southeastern University and a B.A. from Saint Leo University.

Originally from St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands, Commissioner Roberts worked in higher education as a university administrator before beginning his legal career.
