Experience
Danielle Cardin is Counsel at Franklin & Prokopik, where she concentrates her practice in the defense of employers and insurers in workers’ compensation matters. Danielle brings more than a decade of litigation experience to her practice, including extensive experience before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission and in Maryland courts.
Prior to joining F&P, Danielle spent more than four years representing injured workers in Maryland workers’ compensation claims. She managed a high-volume caseload and represented clients through all stages of litigation, including hearings before the Workers’ Compensation Commission, depositions, mediations, appeals, and trials in the Circuit Courts of Maryland. Her prior experience representing claimants provides her with a valuable perspective in her current practice, allowing her to anticipate opposing strategies, identify key issues early, and approach claims with an understanding of how both sides evaluate and litigate workers’ compensation matters.
Before entering private practice, Danielle spent eight years as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, where she served as a first-chair trial attorney, supervisor, and lead prosecutor. During her tenure, she led complex criminal investigations involving firearms offenses, drug trafficking, violent crime, gangs, and criminal organizations, including large-scale, multi-jurisdictional investigations conducted in partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Danielle also presented felony matters to the Grand Jury, supervised prosecutorial staff, and successfully prosecuted numerous criminal cases through trial.
Danielle earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a minor in Communications, from the University of Colorado Denver. She has been admitted to practice law in Maryland since 2013.
