Ms. Thompson obtained her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in 1988 and earned her Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from the University of Baltimore in 1997.

Following college, Ms. Thompson worked for ten years for ACE USA (formerly CIGNA Property & Casualty Companies) handling workers’ compensation claims and providing legal representation. In 2000 she joined the staff counsel office for Zurich North America and worked as a litigation attorney for ten years.

Ms. Thompson is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, and Maryland Defense Counsel.
