A principal of the law firm of Franklin & Prokopik since its inception in 1999, Maija B. Jackson concentrates her practice in the area of civil litigation, especially Maryland workers’ compensation cases, general liability defense and insurance coverage issues.

She is admitted to practice before the Maryland Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the Pennsylvania Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
Education
A 1982 graduate of the Bryn Mawr School, Ms. Jackson received her B.A. from the Johns Hopkins University in 1986. After college, Ms. Jackson took a position as a referral specialist with the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Services, which inspired her to attend law school. In 1991, she received her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

She is a member of the Baltimore Claims Association, the Baltimore City Bar Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association, the Southern Association of Workers’ Compensation Administrators, the Maryland State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She has been active in the practice of Maryland workers’ compensation law since 1991 and on the Board of the Maryland Workers Compensation Educational Association since 2008, serving as the Program Planning Chair for the 2013 Ocean City Conference.
