As firm principal, Scarlett concentrates her civil litigation practice primarily in the areas of liability defense for both premises liability and trucking and transportation, as well as liability insurance subrogation for property damage claims, focusing on electrical, fire, and water damage incidents. Scarlett has taken over 15 jury trials to verdict, as well as obtained over $1,000,000.00 in recovery in her insurance subrogation practice.  She regularly litigates cases in both state and federal courts related to all of her practice areas and has experience in all aspects of the litigation process, from on-site investigation through trial.

In addition to previously working at F&P as an associate attorney, Scarlett also has years of prior experience litigating personal injury claims, as well as more recently serving as counsel for The Travelers Indemnity Company with The Law Offices of Joseph M. Jagielski where she gained experience in both insurance defense and insurance subrogation.

During law school, Scarlett served as the Moots Chair of the University of Baltimore Moot Court Executive Board, as well as competed on the John J. Gibbons Criminal Procedure Moot Court Team, and worked in various roles on the Student Bar Association. She also served as a Rule 16 Student Attorney for the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, and served as both intern and then a judicial law clerk for the Honorable John N. Prevas, Chief Judge of the Baltimore City Circuit Court. More recently, she completed The Travelers Indemnity Company Fire Science Seminar in June 2019 where she received training on determining the causes and origins of fires.

Winter 2022 – New Year, Same Problem: commercial Trucker Shortage


Scarlett has been an active member of the Bar Association of Baltimore City for many years and served in numerous roles on the executive council for its Young Lawyers’ Division, including Co-Chair of the Public Education Committee, Elected Member, Elected Member-at-Large, Co-Chair of the Events Committee, and Chair of the Awards Committee. She is also a member of the Justinian Society in Maryland, a legal organization comprised of attorneys, judges, and law students of Italian ancestry. She has served as a mentor on the Baltimore Girls’ Schools’ Leadership Coalition since 2016 as an alumnae representation for her alma mater, St. Paul’s School for Girls, as well as coached mock trial teams at the law school and middle school levels. Scarlett is native to Baltimore City, Maryland, and is an avid boater, which is how she spends her free time in the summers. The Red Eye Yacht Club has recently named Scarlett Vice Commodore. Outside of the office and off her boat, she is both an active thespian and musician and has sung in the Baltimore City Bar Association’s Cabaret & Cabernet, as well as recently starred in local productions of A Few Good Men and 9-to-5, The Musical. To view one of Scarlett’s performances for Cabaret and Cabernet, click here.
