Patrick Toohey concentrates his litigation practice primarily in liability and insurance defense. He has successfully defended large corporations and small businesses in matters including premises liability, commercial transportation, and contract disputes in Maryland state and federal courts.
Before joining Franklin & Prokopik, Patrick served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Julie L. Glass in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. In law school, Patrick was the Editor-in-Chief for the University of Baltimore Law Forum and participated in the Community Development Clinic as a Rule 19-217 Student Attorney. Also while in law school, Patrick served as Judicial Intern to the Honorable Richard D. Bennett in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and to the Honorable John Addison Howard in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, and was a law clerk in the Executive Division of Maryland Office of the Attorney General.

Patrick is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore County Bar Association. As an undergraduate, Patrick played Division I Lacrosse for The Ohio State University Men’s Lacrosse team. Patrick is a graduate of McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland, coaches youth lacrosse, and enjoys following the Ohio State Buckeyes football team.
