Matt Healy concentrates his active litigation practice primarily in the areas of liability and insurance defense.

Before joining Franklin & Prokopik, Matt was an associate with a Baltimore firm that handles general civil litigation matters, insurance defense, and that offers legal support to local governments throughout the state of Maryland.

During law school, Matt served as an Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, and Class.  Matt was also a member of his law school’s Moot Court Board and further served as a teaching and writing fellow to first-year students.  In addition, Matt was a Rule 19-217 Student-Attorney in the Post-Conviction and Appellate Advocacy Clinic where he represented indigent criminal defendants on direct appeals of their convictions.


Matt’s hometown is Frederick, Maryland.  He is an avid sports fan and supports the Washington Nationals and Maryland Terrapins.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports and traveling.
