Experience

Jillian is an experienced litigator who focuses her practice on workers’ compensation and general liability defense matters throughout Virginia.

A proud double spider, Jillian graduated from the University of Richmond with her Bachelor of Arts in 2012, double-majoring in Political Science and Criminal Justice. While an undergraduate, Jillian was a member of the Division I Swimming & Diving Team, contributing to 3 team Atlantic-10 Conference Championships and finishing her career with 6 conference championship medals. Jillian returned to the University of Richmond for law school, where she participated on the Trial Advocacy Board, serving as an executive board member and competing on behalf of the Board at regional and national trial advocacy competitions. She was also a manuscripts editor for the Richmond Journal of Law & Technology.

After law school, Jillian served as a judicial law clerk for the judges of the Circuit Court of Henrico County. At the end of her clerkship, she went on to practice in a variety of substantive areas of law, with primary focuses on workers’ compensation defense, as well as general liability defense and medical malpractice defense. Jillian has briefed and argued several appeals before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission and the Court of Appeals of Virginia.

Activities

Jillian was born and raised in southern New Jersey. She was a surf rescue lifeguard for the Ocean City Beach Patrol in Ocean City, NJ, for five seasons (2009-2010, 2012-2014), where she was a member of the elite Rapid Response team and represented the OCBP in competitions against other New Jersey/east coast beach patrols. In her spare time, Jillian can be found putting the miles on her Peloton, swimming, reading, rooting for Philadelphia sports teams (Go Birds), or spending time with her dog Luigi Giuseppe. She also serves as an external competition team coach and adjunct instructor for the Trial Advocacy Board at the University of Richmond School of Law.
