Daniel P. Cornell concentrates his practice primarily on the area of workers’ compensation and employers’ liability. Before joining Franklin and Prokopik, Dan was a health law attorney with CloudMed, LLC where he appealed claim denials with insurance companies as well as state and federal agencies on behalf of healthcare systems and hospitals in the U.S. and its territories. Dan managed a large caseload and frequently appeared before the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals.

Following law school, Dan served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Yolanda L. Curtin in the Circuit Court for Harford County. During law school, Dan was a law clerk for the Seledee Law Group, LLC, a busy collections/creditors’ rights firm. Additionally, he worked as a law clerk for the Maryland Office of the Attorney General Organized Crime Unit. Dan was a staff editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review and team liaison for the Telecommunications Moot Court team. Dan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Prior to his legal career, Dan spent time working for a trucking company based in Pennsylvania and served as a police officer in Virginia.


Dan is a member of the Maryland State Bar. He is originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University. Dan enjoys sailing and camping with his family and rescue dog, Sadie.
