Areas of Practice
Chris joined Franklin & Prokopik in March of 2016. His primary practice area is workers’ compensation defense & employers’ liability. He is also available to handle any criminal or traffic matters that may arise on behalf of clients. Since joining the firm, Chris has handled hundreds of cases at the Workers’ Compensation Commission level, and also handled cases before the Circuit Courts of Prince George’s County, Howard County, and Anne Arundel County.
Prior to joining Franklin & Prokopik, Chris focused his practice in criminal litigation. He served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Harford County for seven years. While working in the District Court Division, he prosecuted thousands of misdemeanor criminal cases as well as serious traffic cases. In his third year as a prosecutor, Chris began handling serious felony cases in the Circuit Court. He handled all phases of felony prosecution to include investigation, grand jury presentation, motion hearings, and jury trials. He was also called upon to handle particularly sensitive and difficult cases because he was identified as a detail-oriented prosecutor that cared about his victims.
While in law school, Chris served as a Rule 16 attorney for the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office. He also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable John O. Hennegan in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. In his third year of law school, Chris switched to the night program at University of Baltimore to complete his legal education while serving as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John O. Hennegan.
