Experience

Brian Cunningham joined Franklin & Prokopik in September of 2017. His primary practice area is workers’ compensation & employers’ liability.

Prior to joining Frankin & Prokopik, Brian served as a public defender for the State of Maryland. He has experience handling a variety of cases ranging from simple driving offenses to serious felonies. While working at the Office of the Public Defender, Brian was often tasked with handling the more difficult and sensitive cases based on his systematic attention to detail and ability to negotiate passionately while still remaining professional and to litigate when called for. At the conclusion of his service, Brian had handled upward of 10,000 cases.

While attending the University of Baltimore School of Law, Brian clerked for attorney Raymond Atkins in Towson. After graduating law school, he clerked for the Honorable William O. Carr, Administrative Judge of the Harford County Circuit Court. While clerking for Judge Carr, he prepared dockets and reviewed hundreds of case files ranging from divorce to personal injury while drafting opinions and keeping the day to day operations running smoothly.
