Franklin & Prokopik's Western Maryland office is located in Hagerstown, Maryland.  Hagerstown is the county seat of Washington County and is centrally located to serve our clients throughout the western region of the State.  John P. Rufe is a Firm Principal, and is resident in the Hagerstown office.

Mr. Rufe is admitted to practice before the Maryland and the District of Columbia Bar, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

The Hagerstown office is dedicated to serving the needs of Franklin & Prokopik's clients throughout Western Maryland. We strive to know our clients' business within the unique context of this region and its people. Both insured and self-insured clients are represented. Representative clients include the Boards of Education of Garrett, Allegany, Washington and Frederick Counties (through the Maryland Association of Boards of Education Workers' Compensation Group Self -Insurance Fund), Food Lion, Inc., the Washington County Commissioners, Eastalco Aluminum Company, Garden State Tanning, Inc., Fleetwood Travel Trailers, Hahn Transportation, Wastler Construction, Sheetz, Inc., USA Cartage, Lightning Transportation, and Butter Krust Baking Company.

Mr. Rufe is active in the Western Maryland Chapter of the Maryland Motor Truck Association, the Regional Transportation Safety Network, the Tri-State Safety Council, the Cumberland Valley Society of Human Resource Managers, and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Rufe also maintains a strong presence in the personal injury liability defense of insured and self insured clients across all areas of trucking and motor vehicle torts and premises liability.

Take Exit 16 toward I-70W Frederick/Park and Ride,
Once on exit stay in left lane towards Frederick,
Merge on I-70 West,
Merge onto Dual Highway/National Pike/US 40 West via Exit 32B toward Hagerstown for roughly 2.5 miles,
Turn right onto Eastern Blvd N.,
Turn Right onto Opal Court.

Take I-81 North towards Hagerstown,
Merge onto I-70 East via Exit 3 toward Frederick,
Turn right onto Eastern Blvd. N.,
Turn right onto Opal Court.

Take I-68 East/US 40 East,
Take I -70 East/US 40 East exit 82AB towards Hagerstown/Hancock/Winchester,
Merge onto I-70 East via Exit 82B (on the LEFT)…continue for roughly 30 miles,
Merge onto National Pike/US-40 West/ Dual Highway via Exit 32B toward Hagerstown for roughly 2.5 miles,
Turn right on Eastern Blvd North,
Turn right on Opal Court.
