A principal of Franklin & Prokopik, Bert Randall concentrates his practice in the defense of employers in labor and employment, workers’ compensation, tort liability, administrative and regulatory matters and general civil litigation. He regularly represents employers in state and federal courts, and before state and federal administrative agencies, including: Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, EEOC and FEP agencies, DOL, MOSH/OSHA, and Office of Administrative Hearings. In addition to his active trial practice, Mr. Randall places an emphasis on counseling employers in effective employment policy formation and training in order to avoid costly litigation.

He is currently admitted to practice before the Maryland Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Education:

Mr. Randall received his Bachelor of Science degree in General Business from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1991. He graduated with honors from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1995. While at the University of Baltimore, he was an associate editor on the University of Baltimore Law Review from 1994-1995 and served as a teaching assistant from 1993-1995 for the first-year legal analysis and writing class.

Mr. Randall is Labor & Employment Counsel to the Maryland Motor Truck Association. He serves on the Employee Relations and Workers’ Compensation Task Forces for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Randall also is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Occupational Safety and Health and Workers’ Compensation subcommittees of the Labor & Employment Section as well as the Labor & Employment Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. He also serves as a contributing editor to Council on Education in Management’s national Personnel Law Update newsletter and is a frequent author on labor and employment topics.
He has served as a speaker, both regionally and nationally, for numerous organizations, including:
